The Marysville Fire District is proud to announce the deployment of a new Peak Activity Unit (PAU), designed to help shorten response times and provide emergency medical care during the busiest hours of the day. The unit, which will be staffed by two firefighter/EMTs, responds out of Station 66 and will serve the entire Marysville area.

The PAU is strategically positioned to improve firefighting and emergency medical services during high demand times, ensuring quicker response and more efficient care for the community. By adding this designated aid unit, the Marysville Fire District aims to address the increasing need for immediate medical attention and emergency services during periods that historically have had the highest call volumes. The District typically responds to over 1000 emergency medical service (EMS) calls each month, which make up over 85% of its total workload.

“This new unit reflects our commitment to enhancing service delivery and responding to the growing needs of our community,” said Chief Ned Vander Pol of the Marysville Fire District. “By having a dedicated ambulance staffed with trained professionals during peak hours, we can provide more timely care to the residents of the Marysville Fire District, improving outcomes for those in need.”

The PAU will be available for immediate dispatch to emergency calls, providing specialized care. The addition of this unit is part of the District’s ongoing efforts to improve public safety and emergency response times in Marysville.
